It’s no secret that over here at Cold-EEZE, we’re huge care package enthusiasts. Let’s face it: those thoughtful bundles are a great way to wrap up your love and send it over to someone who needs it. But they can be overwhelming to assemble, too. After all, there are a lot of ways to show your care and concern. And that’s where we come in—we’ve been at this for a while, so let us help out! We’ll be sharing our suggestions with you in a series of our best Get Well Sooner “Care Package A Game” tips.
Tip #2: Keep ’em entertained!
Welcome back to Tip #2 of our Care Package series. Last time, we talked about the importance of personalizing a care package and paying attention to the little gestures so that your friend in need will know you’re thinking of them. Now, we’re ready to move onto the next step in the world of care package creation: keeping the recipient entertained!
More likely than not, your friend is trapped in the house while they’re nursing their cold—so fun distractions are more important than ever. Books of puzzles and Sudoku are universal crowd-pleasers, providing much-needed outlets for passing a few hours. Ditto on Amazon gift certificates—especially because they’ll allow the recipient to choose whatever distraction they’d like.
But of course, we like to think a little more personalized! For the especially crafty, a yarn and knitting pin or origami kit with paper might also do the trick. Or consider sending along a scrapbooking kit. After all, sick days provide the time that you never usually have to sift through old photos. This kit could be turned into more than a distraction: it might just be the motivation that your friend needs to kickstart a useful, fun project that they can continue even when they’re back on their feet!
For advanced level care packages (we know you’ve got it in you!), what about custom-made Mad Libs, based on funny memories of the two of you? Or a “mix DVD” of favorite TV show clips for them to watch? Maybe a nostalgic CD of your favorite songs through the decades? Remember: it’s all about providing the right balance of enjoyment, laughs, and comfort!
What are your best ideas? Any success stories from past care packages that you’ve sent, received, or just off-the-cuff brainstorms from activities that you love to do (and will ship easily)… we want to hear about it all!
And remember, these blog posts are part of an ongoing series about how to create your best care package ever… so tune in for the following weeks to see what we have in store!

Cold-EEZE saves the day!
We love to hear stories like the one below – when Cold-EEZE truly came to the rescue of our fan Jenny N. “I owe Cold-EEZE for my prom,” she told us. “I had the perfect dress, the perfect shoes, and the perfect date. But [dun dun dun] “I started getting not-so-perfect cold symptoms the day before [and] my school was SUPER strict about anyone coming to school sick.” Luckily, her mom intervened with a big box of Cold-EEZE, and Jenny says “it was one of the best nights of my life (so far)!”
Meanwhile, William S. needed Cold-EEZE for even more dire situations during the winter of 2009. His town, Wildwood, NJ, got hit with three feet of snow and no electricity for a week! “That was one of the worst years here,” he explains, and with all of the snow, power-loss and winter craziness “everyone had a Cold-EEZE moment… Thank you Cold-EEZE.”
Thanks to all of our fans for telling us their wonderful stories! We hope you’ll be inspired by these to share yours below and on our Facebook Page. How did you and Cold-EEZE first meet? Did a friend introduce you? Was it love at first sight or a slow crescendo? Now that you’re hooked, are you loyal to one particular flavor?
