While many are spending their afternoons hitting the mall for some last minute holiday shopping, Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy, City Harvest, The Daily News, the FDNY and host of ABC’s The View, Jenny McCarthy, took a break from their crazy schedules to help those in need during the holiday season at The Daily News Readers Care to Feed the Hungry Canned Food Drive (DNRC).

At the December 12th event presented by City Harvest and Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy and hosted by FDNY, the lovely and bubbly Jenny McCarthy, donning her warm Cold-EEZE winter hat, braved the harsh weather to help collect canned goods to help feed the hungry in New York. Fans and local New Yorkers came out to a midtown Manhattan FDNY firehouse to donate canned goods and to meet, take pictures with and get an autograph from Jenny!

City Harvest is dedicated to feeding more than one million New Yorkers that face hunger by rescuing excess food and delivering it to its network of more than 500 soup kitchens and food pantries across the city. Last year’s food drive collected over one million pounds of food, and this year City Harvest hopes to collect even more to help keep the shelves stocked at emergency food programs all across the city.

Jenny mentioned (and tweeted!) that she was thrilled to partner with Cold-EEZE and City Harvest to not only collect canned goods for the holiday season, but to encourage everyone to stock up and take their Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy to prevent those pesky coughs and sniffles during the winter months.

Of course plenty of Cold-EEZE Cold Remedy products were handed out to make sure all of the brave New Yorkers who came out in the cold were prepared to shorten any colds they catch!
