After the huge response we got from you for Cold-EEZE Improv-Ice this past November, we’re thrilled to announce that we are sponsoring Cold-EEZE Skate for the Heart, a figure-skating special that airs this Sunday, January 16th, at 4pm EST on NBC! We know how many of our fans are also big fans of figure-skating, so we’re very excited by the opportunity to get involved.
It’s going to be a great show that will be hosted by Olympic medalists Michelle Kwan and Peggy Fleming, and will feature some of your favorite performers from Cold-EEZE Improv-Ice, like Sasha Cohen, Rachael Flatt, and Jeremy Abbott. Even more star skaters are in the mix, like 2006 Olympic silver medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Joannie Rochette, and three-time U.S. National Champion Johnny Weir
As if all that weren’t enough, the event features famous singers to match the world-class athletic talent: a capella group Straight No Chaser, and American Idol phenoms Ruben Studdard and David Archuleta! In a fun nod to Cold-EEZE’s involvement with the event, some of the show’s skaters themselves—and Olympic champion Brian Boitano—will interview our CEO, Ted Karkus, during the broadcast.
Cold-EEZE Skate for the Heart won’t only provide wonderful entertainment, it’s also going to raise awareness for a great cause. It’s a cause particularly important to co-host Peggy Fleming: her father died of a heart attack just one week before she won the Olympic gold medal for singles skating in 1968. Her sister also recently passed away due to a heart ailment. Cold-EEZE Skate for the Heart combines champion skating performances with the message of living a heart-healthy lifestyle, and brings awareness of the many who suffer from heart conditions.
This is a cause that we believe in, and we felt that combining skating entertainment with a great message would resonate with our caring, compassionate Cold-EEZE community. We’re excited to see it all come together this Sunday! So tell us, Cold-EEZE fans: which performance are you most looking forward to? Old favorites from last time? Skating stars you haven’t seen before? Maybe the incredible singers or Ted’s on-air interviews?
Let us know, and don’t forget to tune in!
If you missed the show on Jan 16, make sure to mark your calendars for the rebroadcasts on the Hallmark Channel on Feb 14, 4-6am EST!
